The RAeS Munich Branch does not maintain corporate premises, but instead gratefully receives support from the aerospace companies and organisations in the Munich area. (Most of these corporations are members of the RAeS (International) Associated Company Scheme and act as sponsors of our Branch - this is why you see their logos on our website.)

Mainly there are four different locations where our events take place:

• The Technical University of Munich with its Garching facilities
• The Deutsches Museum in Munich at the historic airfield at Oberschleissheim
• European Aeronautic, Defense and Space Company (EADS) Deutschland with its premises in Munich-Ottobrunn and Manching.

The RAeS Munich Branch is most gratelful to enjoy the hospitality of EADS Deutschland GmbH at Ottobrunn!

The German Headquarters of the European Aeronautical, Defence and Space Company EADS are situated in Ottobrunn in the South-East of Munich, only a few hundred meters away from both the autobahn A99 and A8 and their intersection "Kreuz Brunnthal". If you come by car from the North, you will have to pass the Munich area East of the town using the A99 "Ostumfahrung Mu"nchen" (Eastern by-pass Munich) and leave at the exit "Ottobrunn". Then turn right. At the next traffic lights turn left. Signs aside the road will then show you the way to EADS main gates .

If you come from the South or from the city of Munich itself, you will use A8 towards East and leave at the exit "Unterhaching" or directly before the intersection "Kreuz Brunnthal". Turn right after you left the autobahn and watch out for the signs that will tell you to turn left then for EADS Main gates.

Of course you can also reach the EADS facilities by public transport, but as the frequency of busses or trains going there usually is not that high at the time our lectures end, we recommend to come by car.

There are plenty of public parking lots available and well signposted, too. You will have to report to the receptionists at EADS main gates, where you receive a badge which enables you to enter the company's area.

By the way: Please bear in mind that you carry a valid personal identification document with you when visitng us. Although EADS will practice a simplified reception procedure for our lecture guests, it is to the very nature of EADS' products that the facilities you will enter then are restricted area and that EADS security staff may want to ask you for a proof of your identity at any time of your stay on company grounds. Thank you!

As you passed the main gates you will already see a large, metallic-grey building in an 11-o'clock-position to you. The lecture hall "Pavillon" is in the ground floor of that building.

The historic airfield of Oberschleissheim is situated only a couple of kilometres North of the city of Munich and is easily accessible both by public transport and by car. The exact address is:
